IT Print Shop Technician
Location: Print/Copy Shop, Distribution Center
12 months, 8 hours/day
Grade 12, $13.42/hour

The job of IT Print Shop Technician is performed for the purpose/s of supporting and maintaining copy and print processes of the district. Said services include connectivity and operations of; printers, copiers, cutters, large print and color.
This job reports to Director of Information Technology or Designee
Responsible for coordinating print/copy requests from a variety of requests from schools, departments and other organizations/individuals.
Responsible for supporting the troubleshooting, operation and management of the district’s print/copy equipment and peripherals.
Must be able to learn, train and be trained on relevant equipment, software and peripherals.
Assumes lead, co-lead and/or as a team member for the purpose of carrying out duties on behalf of the department.
Interacts with any and all district stakeholders for the purpose of providing excellent customer service, cultivating supportive and informative relationships and training.
Responds to inquiries for the purpose of providing technical assistance and support in carrying out PV print/copy functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: utilizing pertinent print/copy and related peripheral hardware and software; adhering to safety practices; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; spiraling, binding, gluing, folding, stapling, hole drilling/punching, counting, shrink wrapping, stapling and padding.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform arithmetic and algebra; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operation of print, copy and peripheral equipment; cutter, collator, etc..
ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and utilize equipment under a variety of conditions for multiple purposes. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with information of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: setting priorities; establishing effective relationships; being attentive to detail; communicating with diverse groups; conveying technical information to non-technical audiences; work in flexible shifts, including but not limited to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays; working nonstandard hours.
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% standing, 20% sitting and lifting. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
