Location: Facilities and Construction
12 months, 8 hours/day
Grade 26, $21.34/hour

Purpose Statement
The job of Facilities & Construction Maintenance Technician IV - Archive and Warranty Technician is a CAD with Document With Archive and Warranty Management position for previous, on-going and future projects pertaining to the construction department of the Paradise Valley Unified School District. This position will follow up on all warranty work.
This job reports to the Supervisor of Construction.
Essential Functions
Manages hard copy documents currently within a flat file storage unit (over 10,000 sheets) as well as maintaining existing electronic files within the Archives server.
Track and document warranty and repair information. Ensure all warranty repairs are completed and documented in a spreadsheet.
Provide research and analytical square footage, property boundaries, rightaways, easements etc. support to Facilities staff, as well as PVUSD school staff.
Maintain project logs including safety issues and follow up for the purpose of providing up to date reference materials (ex. Substantial completion, 2 year warranty, other warranty time frames).
Troubleshoots warranty and plan discrepancy problems for the purpose of determining the efficient resolution of issues and working within specific time frames. Determines if an issue is a district responsibility or contractor warranty.
Create and update documents for schools as required.
Catalog new information as it is received from contractors (close-out documents, warranty documentation, etc) and archive information within the server using the approved PVUSD labeling standard and methods.
Develop and maintain CAD files of existing hard copies by combining various projects into master files.
Travel to various sites (sometimes under construction), observing OSHA and construction site safety regulations while performing on-site documentation of buildings.
Document all aspects of building construction pertaining to the task and create CAD files and construction documents as required.
Write professional letters as well as emails to various trades, construction companies and district staff.
Other Functions
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating a motor vehicle as necessary, operating and maintaining all equipment for the printing of construction documents and storage of hard copy and electronic construction documents.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry, read technical information, compose a variety of documents with various CAD systems such as Blue Beam and other construction drafting and configuration programs.
ABILITY is required to gather and/or collate data and use job related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others, work with data utilizing defined and similar processes, and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals, work with a variety of data and utilize a wide variety of types of job related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include understanding and following oral and written directions, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, analyzing situations accurately and adopting an effective course of action, maintaining routine records, working extended hours and subject to call outs during evenings, weekend or holidays.

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Experience: Job related experience within a specialized field is required.
Education: Associates Degree Equivalent Practical Experience
Equivalency: Five or more years of commercial drafting experience and ADA knowledgeable
Proficient in AutoCAD 2014
